The Green Lane Project assembled transportation planners, designers and engineers from the six focus cities (Austin, Chicago, Memphis, Portland, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.) in New York for a hands-on workshop and face-to-face peer exchanges with staff from the NYC Department of Transportation. New York City is a national leader in green lane design and a senior partner and advisor to the Green Lane Project. City officials had the opportunity to compare notes, see New York's innovations in action, and share solutions for building protected bikeways on American streets.
